Bargaining Update
In the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, the parties had a productive four days of meetings over the last two weeks and came to a tentative agreement on a significant number of non-monetary items. The parties are very pleased with progress made thus far. Additional meeting dates are scheduled for October 9, 15, and 16.

Joint Opening Statement
AESES and the UW began negotiations on September 24, 2025, for a new collective agreement.
We plan to make every effort to negotiate using the interest-based process. We will endeavour to share information openly and participate in discussions of a range of options with the understanding that no final commitments will be made until the end.
As we jointly face the challenge of the future, we share the following values:
- The importance of community at the UW
- The partnership between union and management
- Mutual respect and fairness
- Joint decision-making based on mutual understanding
- Commitment to problem-solving
